Amy Rotering
As a second-career attorney, my passion is helping families in every stage of life. After 20 years in the financial services industry, I wanted a more direct connection with the people I was helping, so I turned to the study of law. I'm now able to use both my financial and legal experience to benefit my clients at Mundahl Law.
As a single parent, I have experienced the challenges of family court from a client's perspective. As a legal professional serving the public through my work at the Hennepin County Family Justice Center, I observed firsthand the high number of people showing up at court without attorneys. I saw how overwhelmed they were having to navigate the complexities of the family court system on their own, and it became my mission to help as many people as possible avoid that stress.
When I meet with a client, I understand that the situation they are describing to me is likely the biggest stressor in their life, and my priority is to lift the burden of worry from their shoulders. I work with my clients as a team. Everyone on the team brings an important contribution: I know Minnesota family law, but you are the expert on your family’s needs. Together, we will create a plan for the future of your family. My first job is to listen to you and to learn about you. After I have heard about your concerns and goals, I will give you honest, candid advice and advocate for your interests throughout your case.
My role does not stop when the divorce or custody matter is over. I am also here to help you look at the new structure of your family and plan to protect your future. The most important time to evaluate your estate plan is when you have been through a major life event. An estate plan that worked for you years or even months ago may not meet your needs any longer. Whether you have just been through a divorce, or you wish to review a will you drew up yourself or had drawn up years back, I will help you make decisions that are best for you now and will benefit you most in the future. This is your life. I look forward to helping you make it the best it can be.
