Amy Rotering's Profile Image

Amy Rotering

Two of the first things people notice when they meet me is my honesty and candor.  I am a second-career attorney whose passion is helping families in every stage of life. After serving clients in the financial services industry for over 20 years, I wanted to have a more direct interaction with people I was helping. As a single parent, I experienced the complexities of family court from a client's perspective.  While serving the public through my work at the Hennepin County Family Justice Center, I observed first-hand the high number of people showing up at court without attorneys and saw how overwhelmed they were having to navigate the complexities of the family court system on their own. It is my mission to help as many people as I can avoid that experience.

When I meet with a client, I understand that what they present to me is likely the biggest stressor in their life. I work with my clients as a team. You know your family far better than I do, and I know the law. Both are needed to succeed in making the best decisions for your unique family situation.  I am there to listen, and learn more about you, to advise, and to advocate.

My role does not stop when the divorce or custody matter is over. I also am here help you look at the new structure of your family and help protect your future. The most important time to look at an estate plan is when there is a major life event. What worked for you years or even months ago may not apply now. Whether you have just been through a divorce, or you wish to review a will you drew up yourself or had drawn up years back, I am here to help you make decisions that are best for you now and will benefit you most in the future. This is your life.  I look forward to helping you make it the best it can be.
